Privacy Policy

Dayrise ("we," "our," or "the app") does not require an account and does not operate a server that stores your personal data. The sections below explain exactly what the app accesses, why, and where it goes.

Camera

When you check in, Dayrise uses your camera to take a photo and sends it to a third-party AI service to verify that it shows outdoor daylight. The photo is used only for that one-time check — it is not stored by Dayrise, saved to your camera roll, shared, or posted anywhere.

Location

If you grant location access, Dayrise uses your approximate location to look up the local sunrise time for the day, via a third-party sunrise/sunset lookup service. Location access is optional — the app works without it.

Data stored on your device

Your streak history, alarm settings, and display name are stored locally on your device only. Dayrise does not require sign-in and has no user accounts, so we have no way to access this data ourselves. Deleting the app deletes this data.

Subscriptions

If you purchase a subscription, payment is handled entirely by Apple through the App Store, and subscription status is managed by our payments provider, RevenueCat. We do not receive or store your payment details.

Notifications and alarms

Dayrise schedules alarms locally on your device using Apple's AlarmKit framework. Alarm scheduling happens entirely on-device and is not transmitted to us.

Data we don't collect

We don't collect your name, email, contacts, or browsing history, and we don't sell or share your data with advertisers.

Children's privacy

Dayrise is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
